Meet The Team

Dr. Renay Fredette

FAMILY PHYSICIAN, MD & FOUNDER

Dr. Renay K. Fredette Primary Care Provider (PCP) at Renova Health in Bellingham, WA. Servicing women, families and all ages in DPC model outside insurance.

As a board certified family medicine physician, I have practiced in Whatcom County since 2009. My interests in medicine include women’s health, dance medicine, COVID, and in-office procedures, although my full spectrum of practice includes all areas of medicine and stages of life.

My education and research background keep me engaged in the scientific medical literature and helps me excel as a provider who looks deeper into the nuances of complicated conditions, on behalf of my patients. I have always brought a more holistic approach to my practice of medicine, but listening to and learning from my patients over the years has recently spurred me toward more knowledge of functional and integrative healing.

I am tremendously grateful for my husband, an acute care surgeon, and my 4 children, who are growing up so fast and currently in middle school through college. My personal time is spent enjoying activities that we do together, including dance, surfing/wakesurfing, backpacking, gardening, and being the owner of alpacas.  It has been a privilege to serve with my family overseas together, doing annual volunteer medical work in a remote area of Honduras.

Canadian-born and California-raised, Whatcom County and the beautiful Northwest have been our beloved home for more than fifteen years, and we love it here!

Abby Branch

CERTIFIED EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST

Having spent over 14 years in the health & fitness industry, I bring a diverse experience of supporting and nurturing women's health, including autoimmune disorders, physical therapy, women's weight loss, prenatal/postnatal fitness and health, fitness and yoga class instruction, and personal training.

My particular focus on women's health began in 2010, when I worked as an intern at a women's weight loss retreat center in Vermont. After I became certified as an Exercise Physiologist, I moved to Atlanta, GA and worked at the CDC as a Health Fitness Specialist. In 2012, I moved back to my home city, Nashville, TN, and worked in physical therapy as an Exercise Physiologist. I also decided to offer in-home personal training and teach fitness classes part time, which then became full time. I wanted to pursue specifically women in the fitness industry, as I believe they have been at a disadvantage for decades.

In the fall of 2015, my husband Wesley and I decided to venture west to Bellingham, WA. After having our two girls, Rosalyn and Emma, I was diagnosed with the autoimmune disorder, Hashimoto's, and hypothyroidism. I've spent the last four years dialing in my own health, along with doing extra research and education on autoimmune disorders, insulin, blood sugar balancing, and weight loss.

As a family and with our dog Pip, we love going on adventures like hiking, camping, and low tide exploring.

Lael Dayton

BUSINESS OPERATIONS, PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

Lael Dayton Business Operations Program Manager_Renova Health Team Member

I love to come alongside skilled passionate people and partner toward success, innovating and refining along the way. With this value driving much of my career, I’ve gotten to work closely with artists, chefs, technologists, marketers, interior designers, and now a talented, intentional group of healthcare professionals at Renova Health.

While the majority of my adolescent years were spent in Bellingham, it look leaving to appreciate how special this town and this corner of the PNW is. I spent over 8 years in Silicon Valley working at Intuit, primarily with the advanced technology team, getting to contribute and learn from top leaders, brilliant technologists/designers/innovators, and take a strong call for customer empathy into my future work.

When I’m not tweaking spreadsheets, pushing along the next action item, facilitating collaboration, etc., you’ll find me designing the details of our fixer upper home near downtown Bellingham, singing songs with my two tiny kiddos…and washing their many dishes.

Stacy Nyhoff

MEDICAL ASSISTANT

With over 20 years as a medical assistant across different specialties such as urology, orthopedics, occupational medicine, and neurology, I've seen firsthand the challenges and flaws of the traditional healthcare system. That's why I'm so passionate about direct primary care. This innovative model allows us to bypass the red tape complexities of insurance, offer quicker access often by text, and genuinely partner with our patients on their health journey. I'm excited to be at the forefront of healthcare innovation, working alongside an incredible team that shares my commitment to continuous learning and providing truly compassionate, effective care.

Outside of work, I enjoy being a wife to my high school sweetheart & mom to our 3 kids, who somehow turned into young adults overnight. We enjoy traveling whether to a beach, the mountains, boating to the islands, fishing or just sitting around a fire making memories with family and friends.

Now that we’ve introduced ourselves, please do the same!
